Ms. Akemi Morita, an expert on Kimono, called at my place in spite of the long distance and her busy schedule.
With a full knowledge of Kimono, not only does she dress Kimono herself but also helps many a man dress Kimono. It was a valuable opportunity for me to have her feel my Kimono textiles.
She kindly made a comment on my works as “not too soft, so perhaps these could be for both “Hitoe” (lined Kimono) and “Awase” (unlined Kimono)”.

I think the texture would be the most important challenge for the weavers.
The texture is something not adjustable instantly.
I make fine adjustments in parallel with weaving, by trying to use different threads and/or reducing the intensity of shooting the woof etc, and by doing so, I try to make the work conform to something that I pursue, but the process is trial and error.
My Kimono is still developing.
