Mayuko Fujii
Dyeing and weaving artist
Born in Tokyo. After graduating from a university, I learned dyeing and weaving from Fukumi Shimura, the holder of important intangible cultural heritage of Tsumugi-ori （Living National Treasure）, and Yoko Shimura at their atelier in Kyoto.
After opening my first atelier in Kamakura, my current atelier is located at the foot of Yatsugatake of Hokuto-shi, Yamanashi Prefecture.
Dyeing silk threads with plants, and weaving textiles for kimono with enthusiasm to keep the life of plants in the form of colors in our life. Photo: Koji Honda
