When buds of cherry blossoms open

We’ve had less snow than usual this winter.
While it’s been relieving for me to have less opportunity driving the snowy roads, I have mixed feelings when I hear that there may be less meltwater to soak the rice fields.

I had been convinced that the warm weather that had remained those days would bring spring as it was.
But then, it snowed near the end of March.
I felt the wet snow which is different from the one in midwinter, warm rather than cold and it snowed heavily as if it was a curtain call to greet once more.

The cherry trees in my home will also be used as the material in the workshop “Herbarium of the senses vol.05 Sakura (cherry blossoms)” held in this Apr.
They had been proceeding to flower any moment but it seemed that they had shrunk and retreated with snow.
I think the weather change will faintly reflect in colour, scent and taste of the cherry blossoms.

I am now looking forward to see the moment when the young buds open.
